About the Video
Modern Portfolio Theory highlights on the diversification of stocks in a portfolio in order to earn risk adjusted returns. Constructing a portfolio with optimum diversification might sound like a cumbersome process, but it is very essential to do so. Stock diversification is a risk management strategy that allows an investor to earn higher returns at a lower risk. Often we wonder as to why we should have multiple stocks in our stock market portfolio, and how to go about in selecting diversification stocks. This is exactly what we’ll talk about in this video.
There is no definite answer as to how many stocks should you have in your portfolio, as it depends on a lot of variables. However, we need to keep in mind the dynamics of portfolio diversification, and not overdiversify our portfolio also. We’ll also discuss about systematic and unsystematic risk that we face while investing in stock market, why should we have multiple stocks in our portfolio, and what is the ideal number of stocks to have in your portfolio.

    Ideal-videal number kuch nahi hota!

    It all depends on the combination of:
    – quality of stocks picked
    – how well we have diversified
    – proportion allocated to each sector/stock
    – how much capital we have
    – our ability to track and adjust all our stocks over a long period of time.
