Thank you for watching this video and thank you for the question.

It is the POEMS platform and it will be better to do it via the cash plus account.

@Darren Chew thanks for replying! But i alr have account w Phillip alr, just that i haven’t used it for trading. Can i use my existing account?

@yeeen123 If your account is opened quite some time ago, then unlikely it is a cash plus account as this account type has only been launched sometime last year.

You can still use your existing account to do it, but I suggest that you check your account type and brokerage rates first.

@Darren Chew Thanks. I just found out the difference and my account type. Cash Plus account the SG stocks custody is with Philip Securities. Mine is the Cash Management account. Yup the brokerage fees is cheaper for the former but if i buy Unit Trusts only there will be no difference.

@yeeen123 yup, there is no fee for unit trust regardless of which account you use.

Hi Darren, are there other funds which have S&P 500 as benchmark and has good past records? Thank you

    1. Darren Chew says:

There are several other unit trusts that use S&P 500 as benchmark. However, for 3 years and more, in general, Infinity US 500 Stock Index will have a better risk reward ratio.

    Thank you for great video.

Just seeking clarification, it appears that there is recurring annual costs for Infinity U.S. 500 Stock Index Fund but no recurring annual fee for SPDR S&P500 US$? Both track the S&P500, available for purchase in platform such as POEMS and can be bought using SRS.

    Thank you.

Hi, thank you for watching! Can I assume that you are talking about this ETF SPDR S&P500 US$@ / S27 (SGX) that is listed on SGX? All ETFs and Unit Trusts have annual management fees, just that it is already built in to the price that you see. However, ETFs generally have lower management fees than Unit Trusts but you will need to pay brokerage fees for every transaction. Hope this clarifies!
