Quick tutorial where I am showing you how to create a fast dynamic histogram in Excel with any given numerical data. More details:
The following procedure is shown:
1. Taking numerical data
2. Determine Minimum and Maximum of data
3. Subtract the Maximum from Minimum
4. Set the number of bins which your final histogram should include (maybe sqare of n)
5. Calculate: (Max – Min) / (NumberOfBins – 1)
6. Create a table with all bins
7. Determine the absolute frequency by using the function "Frequency" and the keys: Ctrl. and Shift
8. Determine the relative frequency by calculating the frequency of one bin dividing by the number of all observations
9. Create a graph of the relative frequency or the relative frequency
10. Adjust the graph
I picked just a random number. normally there are several “thumb rules” for it, e.g. Sturges’ formula, Square-root choice etc.
Thank you so much for your videos. Even though I don’t speak German, your first two videos that don’t have audio were very helpful. I could tell that what you were doing was exactly what I needed and it wasn’t a problem finding a translation. It’s fun how math is language-less. Thank you. I’m curious, what are the Excel shortcuts you are doing where you seem to hold down a button on the keyboard and it automatically fills down the data?
Vielen Dank ihre Video war sehr hilfreich
