John C. Bogle hands down did more for the investment community and the average person investing than anyone else. He was a great man. (Founder of Vanguard)
Indeed he did .AP
stolen warren buffett quote
@Carnell Music no it wasn’t, cite where he said that.
i second that comment
Stay the course
Guys- please note that you should buy index funds and not actively managed funds; ETFs are not always passively managed and mutual funds are not always actively managed. The difference between the two relates on how the investment vehicle is traded. ETFs are traded like a stock on the exchange and mutual funds are traded once a day after the market closes. Mutual funds are best for retirement accounts because you can buy in dollar amounts while ETFs are best suited in a regular brokerage account because they are more more tax efficient (eg no capital gains distribution)
I do agree buying broad market index funds are necessary for everyone’s investing plan, but I really expect ya’ll to know and explain the difference.
Agreed. Index mutual funds are a perfectly good investment with low fees and worth considering. I do not advocate actively managed mutual funds. Paul needs to understand the difference.
really great comment, but i would expect nothing less from Caesar.
You can buy ETF’s in dollar amounts. Mutual Funds are a thing of the past
@Larry Massa Yeah, with the exception of Fidelity, you can buy ETFs on second rate brokerages like Robinhood, SoFi, Webull. On more traditional brokerages like Vanguard, Schwab, TD, you can’t.
Actively managed funds are a thing of the past really… there are plenty of people who buy index funds as an ETF and mutual fund.
@Larry Massa have you tried buying shares of mutual funds in dollar amounts? I do every week. Also, some folks don’t have a choice in their employer sponsored retirement plan. And index mutual funds perform about the same as indexed ETFs offered by the same entity. So yeah they are a thing of the past, also the present, and I suspect the future.
Strongman’s VT I think is a good choice for one do all etf.
Yes i agree vti and Voo .AP
Thoughts on the s&p vs a large-cap value etf?
I’m worried about the over-valuing of the S&P right now and thinking of going large cap value
That could be a good video to make too , idk i would have to sit and think about it .AP
@Everything Money Appreciate the reply! I don’t want to over-think it and like both options, but I think it would make for a good discussion
So if you’re only willing to spend 30 dollar per month on investing to keep your costs low, you’d have to choose between putting 1.2 million dollars in VOO or joining the Everything Money software 🤔
Lol. I was thinking the same
Can’t stand these guys act like they have some crazy software. It’s not proprietary and it’s something any average Joe can create in excel with a little knowledge
@Rob B m8 they have to sell something or why are we here…. on the other hand if you ask them they will say average into an etf…… I think this is very good
SoFi select 500 is the best ETF for your Everything money peeps. Invests $10k and $250.00 monthly till retirement. You will A.O.K. Peeps💯💯💯💯💯
@closing down it’s brilliant I’d pay more…I don’t use the chat but the tools are excellent I’ve built/building a great dividend portfolio that’s doing great…the rest in a etf… also have a value portfolio that’s doing pretty good… well worth the money
Do you buy VOO etf only when the price hits the moving average?
No, i buy every month .AP
Can you make a video about picking the right ETF, What should I be looking for in the ETFs?
We choose Voo , at some point jets , and now gdx.Voo is the right one to start , and you are looking to pay the least to start , secondly to follow the market .AP
I weight the large funds more heavily; QQQM (~top 100), VUG (~top 250), VOO (top 500), and VTI (total market)
Nice strategy .AP
That’s too much overlap with large cap + tech. I would pick VTI since it covers mid and small caps as well.
Lol too much overlapse.
Would you guys recommend dumping a load into an ETF in one lump sum early or average in over time?
Umm better do a little research before deciding
Most data shows that you should put the money in the market as soon as you have it. So lump sum if you have it, and then average in with a deposit from every paycheck. As soon as the money is in your hand, you buy more shares.
@James Love You have forgotten to place a smiley🤥. People will take this for serious!
If the assumption is 20 years down the road the stock market will be higher and that’s all you care about then dumping in a lump sum is better. However, if you check the price everyday then averaging can save you some sanity.
@Corey exactly! The same thing they preach about other things says dump it all in at once.
Stocks only go up. In 40 years VOO 100% guaranteed to be higher than where you bought it today.
Doesn’t matter when you buy just make sure you buy!
Great video as usual, Guys! My financial planner has a fiduciary status. Paul, do I am still getting screwed? Please, I want your opinion.
@Wagner James I have really heard a lot about expert Williams please can i have his info? I want to invest $3,000usd with him.
Watsap

Thanks guys! Was waiting for this video. I’m heavy in individual stocks but want to turn things around with a safer option. Did some research on VOO and FXAIX and might go with FXAIX. Appreciate your analysis!
The expense ratio is lower so that’s a great choice. People forget to look at the mutual fund versions of index funds, the Fidelity S&P 500 mutual fund is probably the lowest fee for an index fund.
@Corey Aren’t mutual fund fee a lot higher than ETFs? What is MER of the MF version?
@Allen L not always the case, you need to look at each fund individually to know for certain. Some mutual funds are more expensive than the ETF version, sometimes the other way around.
Fxaix has a lower dividend yield and lower 5 year return. Even though it is cheaper by .01% it has underperformed voo by about 2% in the last 5 years .
@blak label243 then net gain matters more. VOO fee is low enough at 3 basis points.
This might be the most important video you’ve done. People need to stop putting their financial future in the hands of these glorified salespeople. Become financially literate; nobody can manage your finances like you will.
Tesla, Apple, Amazon, Microsoft, Facebook…keep increasing in valuation because they are in ALL of these ETFs hence they get funding from every corner of the stock market. Paul you usually say buy ETFs instead of overpriced blue chip tech companies but in my mind there is some level of contradiction there.
What about an equal weight ETF?
It is better to own these companies individually, because with an ETF you have to deal with the crap they put in the fund to balance out the large cap tech.

everyone who makes these kinda comments are clearly new to investing
Hey could you guys do a video on comparison and explanation on the pros and cons for IRAs and just putting money into etfs?
Thanks! Love you guys!
Would really love to see a video on what u guys think the top 5-10 ETFs are. I’ve been looking at a lot of ETFs and there’s so many out there it can get confusing trying to figure out what one’s best for u. I’ve personally been looking at VOO,SPY,QQQ,VONV,VTWO,VUG, and XMMO along with a few other sector specific ones there’s just so many ETFs it gets hard to find a good one
Love your videos guys! but I have a question from a new investor, you guys suggest to put the majority of your investment in ETF ..VOO for example, but the top holdings of this ETF are company that you guys said that are heavily overvalued.. I’m a bit confuse
I don’t think they get a good job explaining this.
This is how I made my 6 figures in passive income last year! Love me some compound interest. Just set it and sit back 💰💰🙌
